We have been in school for a month. I don't remember what it is like to not feel tired. There have been days when I come home from school, take a nap, wake up, and wonder how I was even awake before the nap. Either way, I am loving it but tired.
I am learning all about how to deal with kids and discipline. I have had a few instances where I experienced things that I never thought I would experience. Every day I need to write down something I am grateful for. So here are a couple things that I am grateful for:
1. My student who gave me sour patch kids one day.
2. Teachers to turn to and ask for help
3. My students who just "get it"
4. The chance I have to laugh and have my life changed by these kids
5. Coming home to my adorable daughter and amazing husband
6. Technology
7. Movies for the kids to analyze, and give me a chance to catch up on grading.
8. Comfortable heels that help me feel confident and professional
9. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
10. Zupas
11. Really comfortable carpet and beds - falling asleep while laying on the floor happens a lot more lately
12. My daily bike ride to and from school
13. Quick work out sessions
14. A husband who helps maintain our life while I drive through this year of teaching
15. My seniors
16. Phone calls home
17. Getting done with school at 2pm. I still work when I get home but I get to leave at 2pm. So nice.
Delaney is thriving. She is getting funnier and funnier. Delaney and Mike are doing really well together. They get along, and Delaney loves running away and playing chase with Daddy.

Yay me!
So I am proud to announce that I am the new freshman class advisor. Yes, I am. I also had my first picture day as a teacher. I posed very well, and I am cute. I rocked it.
I am loving teaching so far. It is up and down. Lots of emotions. Some days I don't think that I can do this job. Other days I love my job. I guess that is life though. It is up and down and all around.
Mike has started tutoring and is getting paid to do that. He is also reffing high school volleyball games. He is going to be a ball shagger at the UNLV game next week. He is getting paid to do that also. He is an amazing stay at home dad with Delaney. I love watching them become closer.
It has been abnormally rainy here in Vegas. To be abnormal it only needs to rain longer than 15 minutes, and more than once a week. It has rained almost every day here for the past week. The rain started out really stinky but as it has rained more and more that has changed. The rain smells like rain again.
I made a friend in the workout room yesterday. His name is Simon. He is a prison guard. He was really nice. He was waiting for the mail man to exit the mail room, and so he talked with me while I ran on the treadmill. Vegas is definitely not Rexburg, but I am meeting some very interesting people. Simon and I talked about football, prison vs. jail, his son, why I live in Vegas, why he lives in Vegas, and about training for running events. We are basically besties now.
Tomorrow I have my first pre-observation meeting with my AP(Assistant Principal). I am nervous because after this meeting he will be coming in randomly to observe me. Just a little stressful.
I have also recently received my first pay check for teaching. Big day in my life. I have a career and I am being paid to teach finally.
Delaney is as active as ever. She loves magnets. She loves her blanket. She loves being able to turn the TV on to watch a movie. She also loves doing the hand motions to popcorn popping.
So that is us.
